The Zookeeper’s Wife – Trailer vs. Movie #19 (-9.8)

As is typical with all my posts, please be aware there are possible spoilers.

The trailer that I watched for this movie is below:

The Zookeeper’s Wife is a good movie that fails to capitalize on the emotional ride that the story tries to set up.  The story is set in Warsaw Zoo 1939 just prior to the German Blitzkrieg.

The story is compelling given the time frame and circumstances, there is rarely a payoff given the stakes.  One might try and compare this to Schindler’s List, but this isn’t in the same ballpark.  I did really enjoy the movie and think it is worth watching for anyone that is even minor interested in the subject, but this could have been a great movie instead of a very good one.

The trailer does a pretty good job of hiding most of the minor story plots that make the journey of the movie interesting.

(10/10 is a perfect rating)

8.5/10 – Movie Rating: A very good movie that fails to be great.  Definitely worth the watch.

8/10 – Trailer Rating:  Not much is given away about where the story is going.

End Credit Scene? – No
