As is typical with all my posts, please be aware there are possible spoilers.
The trailer that I watched for this movie is below:
Take a young Quentin Tarantino and combine him with a early Guy Ritchie and you get Free Fire. Some will argue it’s bad to be able to make this comparison because director Ben Wheatley draws so much from these two directors, but I say it makes for a very enjoyable movie and that’s what I care about.
The premise of the movie is very simple, gun deal gone wrong. There are no good guys in this movie. But how things go down is what makes this movie very fun to watch. Every character has their own agenda and the development of each characters story is a ride.
The trailer surprisingly doesn’t give away much here. As simple as the story is it would be very easy to give away why things go wrong. The trailer does a good job of hiding this and shows just enough to give a good representation of what the movie feels like.
One of my favorite films of the year.
(10/10 is a perfect rating)
9/10 – Movie Rating: A very enjoyable movie. I had a lot of fun watching.
9/10 – Trailer Rating: It’s hard not to give away anything in a trailer for a movie like this, but why everything happens and the sub plots are not given away in the trailer.
End Credit Scene? – No
